Roseanne Thong is one of my daughter and my favorite children’s book authors. She creates wonderful books about childhood concepts—such as shapes or colors—around a Chinese culture theme, a much-needed break from the regular Western ho-hum traditional stories we read to our children. Whether your celebrating Chinese New Year or another holiday, learning about China for a specific unit or prior to traveling, or you simply want to add some culture to your life, Thong’s books will always deliver.
Red is the Dragon: A Book of Colors is one such book. My daughter and I ran across this book when LookyBook.com was still in operation (we severely miss the site!) and were instantly smitten with it. (In fact, LookyBook is where we discovered Thong’s works in the first place.)
